When it comes to yamaha performance superbike exhausts, the Carbon Can Co Ltd system for the YAMAHA XJR1300 99-03 represents a perfect blend of engineering excellence, aesthetic appeal, and raw performance enhancement. Designed specifically for riders who demand more from their iconic naked sports bike, this exhaust system transforms the XJR1300’s character whilst maintaining the practicality and reliability Yamaha owners expect.

Premium Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts Engineering

The Carbon Can Co Ltd exhaust system for the YAMAHA XJR1300 (1999-2003 models) has been meticulously engineered to deliver exceptional performance gains without compromising on build quality or longevity. Each system is manufactured using premium grade 304 stainless steel, ensuring outstanding corrosion resistance and durability that will withstand the rigours of British weather conditions and spirited riding alike.

At the heart of this system are two CNC mandrel bent link pipes, precision-crafted to ensure optimal exhaust gas flow. Unlike cheaper crush-bent alternatives, mandrel bending maintains a consistent internal diameter throughout each curve, eliminating restrictions that can hinder performance. This attention to detail ensures your XJR1300’s powerful 1,251cc inline-four engine can breathe freely, resulting in improved throttle response, enhanced mid-range torque, and a noticeable increase in top-end power.

Complete Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts Fitting Kit

Understanding that a quality exhaust system is only as good as its installation, Carbon Can Co Ltd provides everything you need for a straightforward fitment. The comprehensive package includes:

  • 2 x Stainless 304 CNC mandrel bent link pipes
  • 2 x Stainless steel exhaust straps
  • 2 x Exhaust strap rubbers
  • Complete link pipe fittings

This exhaust system has been designed to fit directly to your XJR1300’s standard OEM downpipes, meaning you can retain the factory headers whilst transforming the sound, appearance, and performance of your motorcycle. This approach offers excellent value, as you’re not paying for components you don’t need to replace, and it simplifies installation considerably. Most competent home mechanics will be able to complete the fitment in an afternoon with basic tools, though we always recommend consulting a qualified motorcycle technician if you’re uncertain about any aspect of the installation process.

Why Choose These Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts?

The YAMAHA XJR1300 has earned its reputation as one of the most characterful and engaging naked sports bikes ever produced. Its muscular styling, torque-rich engine, and old-school appeal have created a devoted following amongst enthusiasts who appreciate proper motorcycling without unnecessary electronic intervention. However, the standard exhaust system, whilst meeting increasingly stringent noise and emissions regulations, can feel somewhat restrictive and muted compared to what this magnificent four-cylinder engine is truly capable of delivering.

Upgrading to a Carbon Can Co Ltd exhaust system liberates the XJR1300’s true voice. The distinctive howl of the inline-four engine becomes a proper mechanical symphony, with a deep, purposeful note that announces your arrival without being antisocially loud. The weight saving over the standard system also contributes to improved handling dynamics, reducing unsprung mass and enhancing the bike’s already impressive agility.

For riders exploring other models in the Yamaha range, Carbon Can Co Ltd offers an extensive selection of quality exhaust systems, including options for the adventure-focused Yamaha Ténéré 700 T7 Hi Level and systems designed for smaller capacity machines like the Yamaha YZF-R125 2014-2020.

Performance Benefits and Sound Characteristics

Beyond the aesthetic improvements and enhanced acoustics, these yamaha performance superbike exhausts deliver tangible performance advantages. The reduction in back pressure allows the engine to expel exhaust gases more efficiently, which in turn enables the intake stroke to draw in a fresh air-fuel mixture more effectively. This optimisation of the combustion cycle results in measurable gains across the rev range, with particularly noticeable improvements in the 4,000-8,000 rpm zone where riders spend most of their time during spirited road riding.

Many XJR1300 owners report that the bike feels more eager to rev, with a crisper throttle response that makes the motorcycle feel more connected and engaging. The enhanced soundtrack also provides better audible feedback about engine speed and load, helping you to ride more intuitively and place gear changes more precisely.

Quality Construction and Longevity

The use of 304-grade stainless steel throughout the link pipes ensures this exhaust system will maintain its appearance and structural integrity for many years. This marine-grade material offers superior resistance to the corrosive effects of road salt, moisture, and the acidic compounds present in exhaust gases. The stainless steel construction also means the system won’t require regular painting or protective treatments to maintain its appearance – a simple occasional clean is all that’s needed to keep it looking pristine.

The inclusion of proper exhaust strap rubbers demonstrates Carbon Can Co Ltd’s attention to detail. These rubbers provide essential vibration isolation, preventing the transmission of engine vibration through the exhaust system and ensuring a secure, rattle-free mounting that will remain quiet and stable over thousands of miles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this exhaust fit my 2002 XJR1300?

Yes, this exhaust system is specifically designed to fit YAMAHA XJR1300 models manufactured between 1999 and 2003, so your 2002 model is perfectly compatible.

Do I need to remap my ECU after fitting this exhaust?
