Complete Exhaust System for Yamaha YZF-R125 2014-2020

This comprehensive exhaust kit has been precision-engineered to ensure a perfect fit on your Yamaha YZF-R125 2014-2020 model. The system includes everything you need for a straightforward installation, making it an ideal choice for both experienced mechanics and enthusiastic home DIY fitters. The package comprises one MTC exhaust measuring 250mm in length, one CNC mandrel bent system with link pipe, two high-quality connecting clamps, one stainless steel exhaust strap, and one exhaust strap rubber mount. Each component has been carefully selected to ensure durability, performance, and longevity under all riding conditions.

The slip-on fitting design means you can retain your original catalytic converter and front section, making this a cost-effective upgrade that doesn’t compromise your bike’s emissions compliance. The CNC mandrel bent construction ensures smooth internal surfaces with consistent diameter throughout, which optimises exhaust gas flow and reduces back pressure. This manufacturing technique is superior to crush-bent alternatives, as it maintains the structural integrity of the tubing whilst delivering measurable performance gains.

Performance Benefits for Your Yamaha YZF-R125 2014-2020

Upgrading your exhaust system delivers multiple benefits beyond just improved aesthetics and sound. The precision-engineered design of this system reduces weight compared to the stock exhaust, which contributes to improved handling characteristics and slightly enhanced throttle response. The optimised exhaust flow allows your engine to breathe more efficiently, potentially unlocking a modest increase in power output across the rev range. Whilst the YZF-R125 is restricted to comply with A1 licence regulations, improved exhaust flow can help the engine deliver its power more smoothly and responsively.

The reduced back pressure also means your engine doesn’t have to work as hard to expel exhaust gases, which can contribute to slightly improved fuel efficiency when riding at steady speeds. The stainless steel construction ensures excellent corrosion resistance, maintaining its appearance even after exposure to British weather conditions, road salt, and the inevitable grime that accumulates on any motorcycle exhaust system. Installation and Fitment for Yamaha YZF-R125 2014-2020 Models

Installation is straightforward thanks to the slip-on design and included mounting hardware. The system connects via the link pipe, which slots directly onto your existing exhaust headers. The two connecting clamps ensure a secure, leak-free seal, whilst the stainless exhaust strap and rubber mount provide stable support for the silencer. Most riders with basic mechanical knowledge and standard workshop tools can complete the installation in under an hour. However, we always recommend consulting your vehicle’s service manual and following proper safety procedures, including allowing the existing exhaust system to cool completely before beginning work.

For those seeking a more comprehensive exhaust upgrade, the Yamaha YZF-R125 full stainless system and Mini oval exhaust offers an alternative full-system solution. When installing any aftermarket exhaust, it’s worth checking the torque specifications for all fasteners and ensuring all connections are properly sealed to prevent exhaust leaks, which can affect performance and create unwanted noise.

Sound, Style and Quality Engineering

One of the most immediately noticeable benefits of fitting this exhaust system is the enhanced exhaust note. The carefully designed silencer produces a deeper, more sporty tone compared to the standard system, giving your YZF-R125 a sound that matches its aggressive styling. The note remains civilised enough for everyday riding and won’t cause issues with noise regulations, but provides that satisfying bark on acceleration that adds to the riding experience.

The visual impact shouldn’t be underestimated either. The polished stainless steel finish and compact silencer design complement the YZF-R125’s sharp, race-inspired aesthetics perfectly. The shorter, lighter silencer reduces visual bulk at the rear of the bike, creating cleaner lines that enhance the overall appearance. Quality of construction is evident throughout, with precision welding, high-grade materials, and attention to detail that ensures this exhaust will continue to look and perform excellently for years to come.

Maintenance and Long-Term Care

Stainless steel construction makes maintenance straightforward, though regular cleaning will keep your exhaust looking its best. A simple wash with motorcycle cleaner and a microfibre cloth is usually sufficient for routine cleaning. For more stubborn discolouration or heat staining around the outlet, specialist stainless steel cleaners are available from most motorcycle accessory retailers. Periodically check the mounting clamps and strap to ensure they remain secure, as vibration during riding can occasionally cause fasteners to work loose over time.

Taking proper care of your exhaust system will ensure it continues to deliver optimal performance and maintains its appearance throughout your ownership of the bike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this exhaust fit all Yamaha YZF-R125 models from 2014 to 2020?
Yes, this exhaust system has been specifically designed to fit all YZF-R125 models manufactured between 2014 and 2020, ensuring perfect compatibility with your bike’s mounting points and dimensions.

Does fitting an aftermarket exhaust affect my warranty or insurance?
Any modifications to your motorcycle should be declared to your insurance provider. Aftermarket exhausts are common modifications and most insurers accommodate them, though premiums may be affected. If your bike is still under manufacturer warranty, consult your dealer about how modifications might impact coverage.

Will I need to re-map my ECU after fitting this exhaust?
The YZF-R125’s fuel injection system is generally adaptive enough to compensate for the improved flow characteristics of an aftermarket slip-on exhaust. However, for optimal performance, some riders choose to have their ECU professionally mapped or fitted with a fuel controller.

Is the exhaust road legal in the UK?
This exhaust is designed for use on private land and racetracks. For road use, you should verify compliance with current UK noise and emissions regulations in your area.
