This exceptional exhaust system has been meticulously crafted to deliver outstanding performance, enhanced sound quality, and a striking aesthetic that complements the aggressive styling of one of the world’s most celebrated superbikes. Whether you’re a track day enthusiast, weekend canyon carver, or simply looking to unlock the true potential of your R1, this exhaust system represents the perfect upgrade for riders who demand excellence.

Premium Engineering for Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts

Our exhaust system for the Yamaha YZF 1000 R1 2009 – 2014 comes complete with a comprehensive fitting kit designed to ensure a straightforward installation process. Each system includes two precision-engineered stainless 304 CNC mandrel bent link pipes that have been manufactured to exacting tolerances. The mandrel bending process is crucial for maintaining consistent internal diameter throughout each bend, which ensures optimal exhaust gas flow and prevents the turbulence and restriction that can occur with crush-bent alternatives. This superior manufacturing technique translates directly into improved throttle response, enhanced power delivery across the rev range, and that unmistakable superbike soundtrack that makes the R1 legendary.

The fitting kit also includes two high-quality stainless exhaust straps and two exhaust strap rubbers, providing secure mounting whilst allowing for the thermal expansion that occurs during operation. Every component has been selected for durability and long-term reliability, ensuring your investment continues to perform flawlessly season after season. This exhaust system is engineered to fit straight onto the standard OEM downpipes, eliminating the need for expensive modifications or custom fabrication work. The bolt-on fitment makes this an ideal upgrade for riders who want professional results without the complexity of extensive installation procedures.

Superior Materials and Construction Quality in Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts

We utilise premium grade 304 stainless steel throughout the construction of this exhaust system, a material choice that reflects our commitment to quality and longevity. Stainless 304 offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideally suited to the British climate where moisture and road salt can quickly degrade inferior materials. The polished finish not only looks stunning but also provides an additional layer of protection against the elements. Unlike mild steel systems that require constant maintenance to prevent rust, our stainless steel construction will maintain its appearance and structural integrity for years to come.

The precision CNC mandrel bending process we employ ensures that each link pipe maintains perfect internal geometry, which is absolutely critical for maximising exhaust gas velocity and scavenging efficiency. When exhaust gases can exit the combustion chamber more efficiently, the engine can breathe more freely, resulting in measurable improvements in both power and torque. Riders typically report crisper throttle response, stronger mid-range acceleration, and a more satisfying top-end rush that makes full use of the R1’s formidable 998cc crossplane crankshaft engine.

Performance Benefits of Upgrading Your Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts

The Yamaha YZF 1000 R1 from the 2009 to 2014 generation represents a pinnacle of superbike engineering, and our exhaust system helps you extract every ounce of performance from this incredible machine. The reduced back pressure and improved gas flow characteristics allow the engine to operate more efficiently throughout its powerband. Many riders notice improved fuel economy during steady-state cruising, alongside the performance gains that become evident when opening the throttle. The weight saving compared to the standard exhaust system also contributes to improved handling characteristics, with reduced unsprung mass enhancing suspension performance and making the bike feel more agile through direction changes.

Beyond the measurable performance improvements, there’s the incomparable sound quality that only a premium aftermarket exhaust can deliver. The deep, resonant tone perfectly complements the R1’s crossplane crankshaft firing order, creating an audible experience that enhances every ride. It’s a sound that announces your arrival with authority whilst remaining respectful of noise regulations when ridden considerately. For riders who appreciate the complete sensory experience of motorcycling, this exhaust upgrade transforms the R1 into an even more engaging machine.

Installation and Compatibility

One of the key advantages of our yamaha performance superbike exhausts for the 2009 – 2014 R1 is the straightforward installation process. Because the system is designed to mate directly with the standard OEM downpipes, you won’t need to purchase additional components or undertake complex modifications. Most mechanically competent riders can complete the installation in their home garage using basic hand tools. The included stainless exhaust straps and rubbers ensure secure, vibration-free mounting that will withstand the rigours of spirited riding and track use.

We’ve created a comprehensive video guide demonstrating the installation process, which you can view on our YouTube channel. This visual resource walks you through each step of the fitting procedure, highlighting important details and offering practical tips to ensure perfect results. Having visual reference material makes the installation process far less intimidating for those attempting their first exhaust upgrade.

If you’re exploring exhaust upgrades across the Yamaha range, we also offer systems for other popular models. Our Yamaha YZF-R125 2014-2020 exhaust provides similar quality and performance benefits for smaller capacity Yamaha sportsbikes, making it an excellent choice for newer riders or those seeking economical performance.

Our commitment to adhering to regulations is evident in our product design and labelling, and hence with new updates from ACEM, DVSA and DfT, we are ensuring our exhaust systems are compliant with new and upcoming legislation and regulations. Specifically, two changes detailed below:

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.

Race Exhausts and Silencers:  For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications.
