If you’re searching for premium yamaha performance superbike exhausts that deliver exceptional quality, enhanced sound, and improved performance for your Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré, you’ve come to the right place. Carbon Can Co Ltd is proud to present our expertly engineered twin exhaust system specifically designed for the Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré models from 2008 to 2016. This comprehensive exhaust solution has been meticulously crafted to provide riders with a direct-fit upgrade that combines durability, performance, and that distinctive deep exhaust note adventure riders crave.

Premium Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts for the XT660Z Ténéré

The Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré has earned its reputation as one of the most capable adventure motorcycles on the market, and it deserves an exhaust system that matches its legendary capabilities. Our twin exhaust system is manufactured using only the finest materials and precision engineering techniques to ensure a perfect fit and long-lasting performance. Each component has been carefully designed to complement the Ténéré’s robust character whilst offering riders tangible benefits in terms of weight reduction, sound quality, and overall performance enhancement.

This complete exhaust package includes everything you need for a straightforward installation. You’ll receive two stainless steel 304 CNC mandrel bent link pipes, two stainless steel exhaust straps, two exhaust strap rubbers, and one exhaust hanger bracket. The mandrel bending process is crucial as it maintains a consistent internal diameter throughout the pipe, ensuring optimal exhaust gas flow without restrictions that can hamper performance. This manufacturing technique is a hallmark of quality exhaust systems and demonstrates our commitment to delivering professional-grade products to the motorcycling community.

Complete Fitment Kit for Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts

One of the most significant advantages of this exhaust system is its direct compatibility with your standard OEM downpipes. This means you won’t need to purchase additional adapters or modify your existing exhaust system – our twin exhausts are engineered to fit straight onto your Ténéré’s factory downpipes, making installation considerably more straightforward than many aftermarket alternatives. This plug-and-play approach saves time, reduces installation costs, and ensures that even riders with moderate mechanical skills can complete the fitting process with confidence.

The included hardware has been carefully selected to ensure secure mounting and vibration isolation. The stainless steel exhaust straps provide robust clamping force whilst resisting corrosion, and the rubber mounting components absorb vibrations to prevent metal-to-metal contact that could lead to cracking or loosening over time. The exhaust hanger bracket is precision-engineered to align perfectly with your Ténéré’s mounting points, ensuring a factory-quality fit that looks and performs exactly as it should.

Why Choose Our Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts?

When selecting an aftermarket exhaust system for your Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré, quality and reliability should be your primary considerations. Our exhaust systems are constructed from grade 304 stainless steel, which offers exceptional corrosion resistance – essential for adventure motorcycles that frequently encounter wet conditions, mud, and road salt. Unlike mild steel exhausts that can rust and deteriorate within a few seasons, stainless steel maintains its structural integrity and appearance for many years, making it a sound long-term investment for your motorcycle.

The improved exhaust note is another compelling reason riders choose to upgrade their exhaust system. The twin configuration produces a rich, deep tone that enhances the riding experience without being excessively loud or antisocial. You’ll enjoy a more engaging soundtrack to your adventures whilst still maintaining reasonable noise levels that won’t attract unwanted attention from authorities or disturb fellow riders and residents.

For riders exploring other Yamaha models, we also offer excellent exhaust solutions such as our Yamaha Ténéré 700 T7 Hi Level exhaust system, which shares the same commitment to quality and performance that defines all our products.

Installation and Compatibility

The Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré twin exhaust system is specifically designed for models manufactured between 2008 and 2016, ensuring precise fitment across this entire production run. Before installation, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the mounting areas on your downpipes and frame to ensure optimal seating of all components. Apply a small amount of high-temperature copper grease to the joints to facilitate future removal and prevent seizing.

When tightening the exhaust straps, work gradually and evenly, checking alignment frequently to ensure both exhausts sit symmetrically. Hand-tighten all components initially, then perform a final tightening sequence once you’re satisfied with the positioning. After your first ride, allow the exhaust to cool completely and then re-check all fasteners, as thermal cycling can cause slight settling that may require minor adjustments.

Performance Benefits and Technical Specifications

Beyond aesthetics and sound, aftermarket exhaust systems can contribute to improved engine performance by reducing back pressure and optimising exhaust gas evacuation. The mandrel-bent construction of our link pipes ensures smooth, unrestricted flow, allowing your Ténéré’s single-cylinder engine to breathe more efficiently. Whilst dramatic horsepower gains are unlikely on a single-cylinder adventure bike, riders often report improved throttle response and a slightly more eager power delivery, particularly in the mid-range where adventure riders spend most of their time.

Weight reduction is another practical benefit. Aftermarket exhausts are typically lighter than standard equipment, contributing to improved handling characteristics and reduced unsprung weight. Every kilogram saved on a touring motorcycle translates to improved fuel efficiency and easier manoeuvrability, particularly valuable when navigating challenging off-road terrain or tight urban environments.

Our commitment to adhering to regulations is evident in our product design and labelling, and hence with new updates from ACEM, DVSA and DfT, we are ensuring our exhaust systems are compliant with new and upcoming legislation and regulations. Specifically, two changes detailed below:

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.

Race Exhausts and Silencers:  For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications.
