When it comes to upgrading your adventure bike with premium yamaha performance superbike exhausts, the Yamaha Tenere 700 T7 De Cat Stainless Exhaust System Downpipe Headers represents a significant leap forward in both performance and weight savings. Manufactured in Britain from high-grade T304 stainless steel, this meticulously engineered 2-1 header system delivers enhanced exhaust gas flow, reduced weight, and improved power delivery—all without requiring complex fueling modifications.

Premium British Engineering for Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts

At Carbon Can Co Ltd, we understand that serious riders demand components that combine durability, performance, and precision fitment. Our Yamaha Tenere 700 T7 De Cat stainless exhaust system is handcrafted in the United Kingdom using T304 marine-grade stainless steel, chosen specifically for its exceptional resistance to corrosion, high-temperature performance, and longevity. Unlike cheaper alternatives that may discolour or corrode after exposure to the elements, this premium material ensures your investment remains both functional and visually appealing for years to come.

The downpipe header system has been designed as a direct replacement for the factory original equipment, ensuring perfect fitment with your standard OEM gasket and rear silencer. This plug-and-play approach means you can enjoy the benefits of upgraded performance without the headaches of custom fabrication or extensive modifications. The system bolts directly into place using existing mounting points, making installation straightforward for competent home mechanics or professional workshops alike.

Significant Weight Reduction and Performance Gains

One of the most compelling advantages of upgrading to this exhaust system is the dramatic weight reduction. The standard Yamaha Tenere 700 downpipe weighs approximately 3.5 kilograms, whilst our British-made replacement tips the scales at just 2 kilograms—delivering an impressive 1.5 kilogram weight saving. For adventure riders, this reduction in unsprung mass contributes to improved handling characteristics, better suspension response, and enhanced overall agility, particularly when navigating technical off-road terrain or tackling challenging mountain passes.

Beyond weight savings, the carefully engineered internal geometry of this de-cat system optimises exhaust gas flow, reducing back pressure and allowing your Tenere 700’s parallel-twin engine to breathe more freely. This translates to noticeable improvements in throttle response, mid-range torque delivery, and top-end power—precisely the characteristics that transform a capable adventure bike into an exceptional one. The improved exhaust note also provides a deeper, more purposeful soundtrack without becoming intrusive or antisocial.

Optimised Air-Fuel Mixture for Yamaha Performance Superbike Exhausts

The standard Yamaha Tenere 700 headers tend to run slightly rich on the air-fuel mixture, which can impact both performance and fuel efficiency. Our replacement system has been developed to achieve an optimal air-fuel ratio of approximately 13:1, striking the perfect balance between power delivery, engine protection, and fuel economy. Importantly, this improvement is achieved without requiring mandatory fueling adjustments or ECU remapping, although enthusiasts seeking maximum performance gains may wish to complement the exhaust upgrade with a quality power commander or fuel management system.

This consideration becomes particularly relevant for riders who frequently operate their machines at high altitudes, where thinner air can affect combustion efficiency. Whilst our exhaust system performs superbly in standard trim across all elevations, pairing it with adjustable fueling allows you to extract every available horsepower regardless of atmospheric conditions. For those interested in comprehensive exhaust upgrades across different manufacturers, similar engineering principles apply to products such as our Kawasaki H2 SE & SX stainless exhaust systems, which demonstrate the same commitment to performance and quality.

Installation and Compatibility

The Yamaha Tenere 700 T7 De Cat Stainless Exhaust System has been precision-manufactured to ensure exact fitment with your motorcycle’s existing architecture. The header connects seamlessly to your standard rear silencer using the factory OEM gasket, eliminating the need for additional adapters or custom components. All necessary mounting points align perfectly with the original equipment locations, and the system has been designed to provide adequate clearance around frame components, fairings, and other critical areas.

Before installation, we recommend inspecting all mounting hardware and replacing any worn or corroded fasteners to ensure a secure, leak-free connection. Using copper-based anti-seize compound on exhaust studs will facilitate future maintenance and prevent seizure due to heat cycling. Torque specifications should follow Yamaha’s official service manual recommendations to ensure proper clamping force without risk of damaging threads or gasket surfaces.
