Premium Kawasaki Performance Superbike Exhausts for the ZZR1400

The Kawasaki ZZR1400, known in some markets as the ZX-14R, is a legendary machine that demands an exhaust system worthy of its reputation. Our complete exhaust kit has been meticulously designed to bolt directly onto your 2006-2007 model without any modifications required. This comprehensive package includes everything necessary for a straightforward installation, featuring two precision-engineered stainless steel 304 CNC mandrel bent link pipes that ensure optimal exhaust gas flow and maximum power delivery throughout the rev range.

Each component in this exhaust system has been manufactured to exacting standards using premium grade materials. The inclusion of two stainless exhaust straps and two exhaust strap rubbers ensures secure, vibration-free mounting that will withstand the rigours of spirited riding and track day use. The mandrel bending process used in creating the link pipes is crucial, as it maintains a constant internal diameter throughout each bend, eliminating the restrictions commonly found in cheaper crush-bent alternatives. This attention to detail is what separates professional-grade kawasaki performance superbike exhausts from inferior products on the market.

Installation and Compatibility of These Kawasaki Performance Superbike Exhausts

One of the standout features of this exhaust system is its direct compatibility with your standard OEM downpipes. This design philosophy means you can retain your factory catalytic converters if required for emissions compliance, or you can upgrade your entire exhaust system in stages as your budget allows. The plug-and-play nature of this fitment makes installation accessible to home mechanics with basic tools, though we always recommend professional installation if you’re not confident working on your motorcycle’s exhaust system.

The stainless steel construction offers superior corrosion resistance compared to mild steel alternatives, ensuring your investment maintains its appearance and performance for years to come. The 304-grade stainless steel used throughout this system is particularly resistant to the harsh British weather conditions, meaning your exhaust will continue to look impressive whether you’re riding through wet winter conditions or enjoying summer touring adventures.

Performance Benefits of Upgrading Your Kawasaki Performance Superbike Exhausts

Upgrading to this exhaust system delivers multiple performance advantages that you’ll notice immediately. The improved exhaust gas flow reduces back pressure, allowing your ZZR1400’s powerful inline-four engine to breathe more efficiently. This translates into measurable gains in both horsepower and torque, particularly in the mid-range where you’ll appreciate the extra thrust during overtaking manoeuvres and spirited riding.

Weight reduction is another significant benefit, as aftermarket exhausts typically weigh considerably less than the restrictive factory systems fitted to meet stringent noise and emissions regulations. Reducing unsprung weight improves handling characteristics, making your ZZR1400 feel more agile and responsive through corners. The enhanced exhaust note provides visceral feedback that connects you more intimately with your machine, whilst still remaining civilised enough for everyday use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this exhaust require remapping my ECU?

Whilst the exhaust will function with your standard ECU mapping, we recommend having your motorcycle professionally remapped to take full advantage of the improved exhaust flow characteristics. A custom dyno tune will optimise fuelling and ignition timing, delivering maximum performance gains whilst ensuring your engine runs safely and efficiently across the entire operating range.

This exhaust system is designed for competition use and may not meet current UK road noise regulations. Riders should check their local regulations and requirements before fitting aftermarket exhausts to road-registered motorcycles. Many riders choose to retain their standard system for MOT testing and daily use, whilst fitting performance exhausts for track days and closed-road events.

What tools will I need for installation?

Basic hand tools including socket sets, spanners, and an Allen key set will suffice for most installations. You may also want copper-based high-temperature grease for the mounting points and new exhaust gaskets to ensure a perfect seal. Always allow exhaust components to cool completely before attempting removal or installation work.

Our commitment to adhering to regulations is evident in our product design and labelling, and hence with new updates from ACEM, DVSA and DfT, we are ensuring our exhaust systems are compliant with new and upcoming legislation and regulations. Specifically, two changes detailed below:

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.

Race Exhausts and Silencers:  For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications. This distinction is in line with DVSA policy, ensuring that our race exhausts are suitable for track use, meeting the highest performance standards without compromising on safety.
