Premium Kawasaki Performance Superbike Exhausts for Classic Sportbikes

Our exhaust system for the Kawasaki ZXR400 H 1989-1990 features a straightforward 3-bolt fitting design that makes installation remarkably simple, even for home mechanics with basic tools. The system includes one stainless steel exhaust strap and one exhaust strap rubber, ensuring secure mounting and proper vibration isolation. This attention to detail in the complete fitment kit means you’ll have everything needed for a professional installation without the frustration of sourcing additional components separately.

One of the most significant advantages of this exhaust system is its compatibility with your standard OEM downpipes. This exhaust is made to fit straight to the original factory downpipes, eliminating the need for expensive modifications or additional adapter components. This bolt-on simplicity means you can transform your bike’s sound and performance in an afternoon, without the complexity and expense of a full system replacement.

The construction quality reflects Carbon Can Co Ltd’s commitment to excellence in manufacturing kawasaki performance superbike exhausts. Using premium materials and precise engineering tolerances, each exhaust undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure perfect fitment and long-lasting durability. The stainless steel components resist corrosion even in challenging British weather conditions, maintaining their appearance and structural integrity season after season.

Performance Benefits of Upgrading Your Kawasaki Performance Superbike Exhausts

Replacing the original exhaust on your ZXR400 H delivers several tangible benefits beyond the improved acoustics. The reduced weight compared to the factory system improves the bike’s power-to-weight ratio, enhancing acceleration and handling characteristics. The optimised flow characteristics can help unlock additional horsepower that the restrictive original exhaust may have been limiting, giving your classic Kawasaki a noticeable boost in mid-range punch and top-end performance.

The improved exhaust note isn’t just about volume—it’s about quality. This system produces a deep, purposeful tone that reflects the four-cylinder engine’s sporting character without creating excessive drone or resonance at cruising speeds. Whether you’re enjoying spirited riding on your favourite back roads or simply want your ZXR400 H to sound as good as it looks, this exhaust delivers the perfect soundtrack.

Installation and Maintenance Considerations

Installing this exhaust system on your Kawasaki ZXR400 H 1989-1990 is straightforward for anyone with basic mechanical aptitude. The direct fitment to standard OEM downpipes eliminates complicated modifications, and the three-bolt design allows for precise alignment before final tightening. Always use a torque wrench to secure fasteners to the manufacturer’s specifications, preventing both under-tightening that could cause leaks and over-tightening that might damage threads or mounting points.

After installation, it’s recommended to check all connections after the first few rides once the exhaust has gone through several heat cycles. The exhaust strap rubber should be inspected periodically for signs of deterioration, as this component manages vibration and prevents metal-to-metal contact that could cause wear or annoying rattles.

Regular maintenance of your exhaust system extends its lifespan significantly. Occasional cleaning with appropriate stainless steel cleaners maintains the aesthetic appeal, whilst checking mounting points ensures everything remains secure. The corrosion-resistant materials used in this exhaust system mean it should provide many years of reliable service with minimal maintenance requirements.
