When searching for moto guzzi performance superbike exhausts, riders of the iconic 2006 Griso understand the importance of combining Italian craftsmanship with modern performance technology. Carbon Can Co Ltd has developed a premium exhaust system specifically engineered for the Moto Guzzi Griso 2006, delivering exceptional power gains, weight reduction, and that distinctive V-twin soundtrack that makes this motorcycle so special.

The Moto Guzzi Griso 2006 represents a milestone in the storied Italian manufacturer’s history, blending naked bike aggression with superbike performance. To truly unlock the potential of this 1151cc transverse V-twin engine, upgrading to a high-quality aftermarket exhaust system is essential. Our carbon fibre exhaust has been meticulously designed to complement the Griso’s muscular styling whilst delivering tangible performance improvements that you’ll feel with every twist of the throttle.

Why Choose Carbon Can Co Moto Guzzi Performance Superbike Exhausts

Our exhaust system for the Moto Guzzi Griso 2006 offers numerous advantages over the restrictive factory exhaust. Constructed from aerospace-grade carbon fibre, this exhaust delivers a significant weight saving compared to the original steel system. The reduction in unsprung mass improves handling characteristics, particularly during aggressive cornering where the Griso excels. The material itself is exceptionally strong, resistant to corrosion, and provides excellent heat dissipation properties.

Performance gains are immediately noticeable across the rev range. The optimised exhaust flow reduces back pressure, allowing the 1151cc engine to breathe more freely. This results in improved throttle response, enhanced mid-range torque, and a noticeable increase in peak power output. Riders typically report smoother power delivery and more aggressive acceleration, particularly in the 3000-6000 rpm range where the Griso spends most of its time during spirited riding.

The acoustic improvement is equally impressive. Rather than the somewhat muted tone of the standard exhaust, our system produces a deep, purposeful V-twin rumble that announces your presence without being antisocially loud. The carbon construction creates a unique acoustic signature that perfectly complements the character of the Moto Guzzi engine, providing audible feedback that enhances the riding experience.

Installation and Compatibility of Moto Guzzi Performance Superbike Exhausts

Designed specifically for the 2006 model year Griso, this exhaust system features precise fitment using the original mounting points. Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic mechanical skills and standard tools, though we always recommend professional fitting to ensure optimal performance and compliance with local regulations. All necessary mounting hardware is included, and the system integrates seamlessly with the bike’s existing architecture.

The carbon fibre construction not only looks spectacular against the Griso’s muscular lines but also withstands the rigours of daily riding and long-distance touring. Each exhaust can is hand-finished to exacting standards, with a UV-resistant clear coat that maintains the carbon weave’s lustrous appearance for years to come. The attention to detail extends to the welded joints and internal baffle design, ensuring durability and consistent performance.

Technical Benefits of Premium Moto Guzzi Performance Superbike Exhausts

The engineering behind our exhaust system incorporates lessons learned from decades of motorcycle racing and development. Key technical features include:

  • Aerospace-grade carbon fibre construction with pre-preg manufacturing process
  • Optimised internal diameter for maximum exhaust gas flow velocity
  • Precisely tuned baffle system for optimal back pressure and sound control
  • Lightweight stainless steel connecting pipes with anti-vibration mounts
  • Heat-resistant gaskets and high-quality fasteners throughout
  • Designed to maintain catalyst compatibility where required by regulations

For riders looking to upgrade other Moto Guzzi models, we also offer systems for the Moto Guzzi Stelvio 2008, demonstrating our commitment to the Moto Guzzi community across multiple model ranges.

Performance Gains and Real-World Benefits

Beyond the measurable dyno figures, our moto guzzi performance superbike exhausts deliver practical benefits that enhance every ride. The weight reduction of approximately 3-4 kilograms compared to the stock system might seem modest, but it’s positioned low and towards the rear of the bike, noticeably improving the handling balance. The Griso feels more eager to change direction and holds its line through corners with increased confidence.

The improved throttle response means smoother power delivery in urban environments, making the bike easier to manage in traffic whilst providing explosive acceleration when you need it. The enhanced exhaust note also improves rider engagement, creating a more visceral connection between pilot and machine that epitomises the Moto Guzzi experience.

Fuel efficiency can also see marginal improvements due to the optimised exhaust flow, though most riders find that the enhanced performance encourages more enthusiastic riding styles. The system’s durability means it’s a long-term investment that will serve you reliably for many thousands of miles, unlike cheaper alternatives that may corrode or fail prematurely.

Owners of other classic Moto Guzzi models might also be interested in our Moto Guzzi Breva 2006 exhaust system, which shares similar engineering principles adapted for that model’s specific characteristics.

Maintenance and Care

Maintaining your carbon fibre exhaust system is refreshingly simple. Unlike traditional steel or stainless systems that require regular polishing to prevent discolouration, carbon fibre maintains its appearance with minimal effort. Occasional cleaning with mild soap and water, followed by a gentle wipe with a microfibre cloth, keeps the exhaust looking pristine. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that might damage the protective clear coat.

Periodic inspection of mounting points and fasteners ensures everything remains secure, particularly after the initial break-in period of 500 miles. Check for any signs of exhaust leaks at gasket points, though the quality of our installation hardware makes this rare. The system’s robust construction means it can withstand the elements, temperature extremes, and the vibration characteristics inherent to the Moto Guzzi V-twin configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this exhaust pass MOT testing? Our exhaust systems are designed with compliance in mind, featuring internal baffles that control sound output. However, regulations vary by region, and we recommend checking your local requirements.

How much weight will I save? Expect a reduction of approximately 3-4 kilograms compared to the original factory exhaust system, with the weight saving concentrated in a beneficial location for handling.

Do I need to remap the ECU? While the exhaust delivers improvements with the standard mapping, a professional ECU remap or fuel controller will optimise the air-fuel ratio and maximise the performance gains available from the improved exhaust flow.

Is professional installation required? While experienced home mechanics can install the system, we recommend professional fitting to ensure correct alignment, secure mounting, and optimal performance.

Transform your Moto Guzzi Griso 2006 with Carbon Can Co’s premium exhaust system and experience the perfect fusion of Italian heritage and modern performance engineering. Specifically, two changes detailed below:

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.

Race Exhausts and Silencers:  For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications. This distinction is in line with DVSA policy, ensuring that our race exhausts are suitable for track use, meeting the highest performance standards without compromising on safety.
