When it comes to upgrading your adventure bike, few modifications deliver the impact of premium honda performance superbike exhausts, and our Carbon Can Co system for the Honda CRF 1000L Africa Twin is engineered to transform your riding experience. Designed specifically for riders who demand excellence, this exhaust system combines race-proven technology with road-legal practicality, offering a perfect balance of performance, weight savings, and that unmistakable deep exhaust note that turns heads wherever you ride.

Why Choose Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts for Your Africa Twin?

The Honda CRF 1000L Africa Twin is already an exceptional motorcycle, but factory exhaust systems are often compromised by strict emission regulations and cost constraints. Our aftermarket exhaust system unlocks the true potential of your parallel-twin engine, delivering noticeable improvements in throttle response, mid-range torque, and overall rideability. The weight reduction alone—often several kilograms compared to the standard system—improves handling characteristics and makes the bike feel more agile on technical trails and winding roads.

Each exhaust is handcrafted in the UK using premium T304 stainless steel, chosen for its exceptional corrosion resistance and durability in all weather conditions. This grade of stainless steel is specifically selected for motorcycle applications because it maintains its structural integrity and appearance even after thousands of miles of exposure to heat, moisture, and road debris. Unlike cheaper alternatives that can discolour or deteriorate, our exhausts maintain their lustrous finish season after season.

Complete Fitting Kit for Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts

We understand that installation convenience matters, which is why every exhaust system comes complete with everything you need for a straightforward fitting process. Your purchase includes one high-quality stainless T304 link pipe, engineered to precise tolerances to ensure perfect alignment with your standard OEM downpipes. The link pipe design means this is a slip-on system that connects directly to your existing factory headers, eliminating the need for expensive full-system replacement.

Also included is one stainless exhaust strap and one exhaust strap rubber mounting, ensuring secure fitment that dampens vibration whilst allowing for natural thermal expansion during operation. These components are often overlooked, but we’ve specified premium-grade materials that will outlast cheaper alternatives and maintain secure mounting throughout the life of the exhaust. The system is designed to fit straight onto the standard OEM downpipes without modification, making installation achievable for home mechanics with basic tools and mechanical aptitude.

Performance Benefits and Real-World Testing

Our honda performance superbike exhausts have been extensively tested both on the road and in controlled dyno environments. Riders consistently report improved throttle response throughout the rev range, with particular gains in the crucial 3000-7000 RPM band where the Africa Twin spends most of its time during real-world riding. The reduced back pressure allows the engine to breathe more efficiently, resulting in crisper acceleration and improved fuel combustion.

Beyond the measurable performance gains, the acoustic improvement is immediately apparent. The deep, purposeful exhaust note enhances the riding experience without becoming antisocial or intrusive. We’ve carefully tuned the internal construction to eliminate drone at motorway speeds whilst delivering a satisfying growl under acceleration. This is an exhaust that sounds as good as it performs, adding character to your Africa Twin without compromising long-distance comfort.

For riders seeking similar quality upgrades for other Honda models, we offer an extensive range including systems for the Honda XRV750 Africa Twin 90′ – 03′, ensuring continuity of quality across Honda’s adventure bike lineage.

Installation Guidance for Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts

Fitting your new exhaust system is straightforward for anyone with mechanical experience. We recommend watching our detailed YouTube installation video (https://youtu.be/dfvtcqfJ6a0) before beginning work, as visual guidance can prevent common mistakes and ensure optimal results. The process typically takes 30-45 minutes with basic hand tools, and no permanent modifications to your motorcycle are required.

Start by supporting your motorcycle securely on level ground using a paddock stand or centre stand. Allow the existing exhaust system to cool completely if the bike has been recently ridden—exhaust components retain heat for extended periods. Remove the original exhaust can by loosening the mounting hardware and carefully sliding it rearward off the OEM downpipes. Clean the connection point thoroughly to ensure a proper seal with your new system.

Slide the new link pipe onto the OEM downpipes, ensuring it’s fully seated before tightening any fasteners. Position the exhaust strap and rubber mounting according to the bracket on your motorcycle’s subframe, then gradually tighten all connections in sequence, checking alignment as you go. A final inspection should confirm that the exhaust sits parallel to the motorcycle with adequate clearance from bodywork, suspension components, and the rear tyre throughout its full travel.

Maintenance and Long-Term Care

Stainless steel exhausts require minimal maintenance, but a few simple practices will keep your system looking pristine. After riding in wet or salty conditions, rinse the exhaust with clean water to prevent residue buildup. Periodically inspect mounting hardware for tightness, as vibration can gradually loosen fasteners over time. For detailed motorcycle maintenance guidance and best practices, Motorcycle News offers comprehensive resources covering all aspects of bike care.

Light surface staining from heat is normal and actually indicates proper exhaust gas temperature. For cosmetic cleaning, use stainless steel polish and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive materials that could scratch the finish. The T304 grade stainless we use is highly resistant to corrosion, but it’s not completely immune—prompt cleaning after exposure to harsh conditions extends the life and appearance of any exhaust system.

Our commitment to adhering to regulations is evident in our product design and labelling, and hence with new updates from ACEM, DVSA and DfT, we are ensuring our exhaust systems are compliant with new and upcoming legislation and regulations. Specifically, two changes detailed below:

Road Legal Exhausts: Our road legal exhausts will have the BSAU stamped markings and be crafted with non-removable baffles, aligning seamlessly with the standards set by ACEM (European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). These baffles are an integral part of our design to ensure that your motorcycle exhaust complies with road regulations, providing you with a legal and enjoyable riding experience.

Race Exhausts and Silencers:  For those seeking an exhilarating experience on the track, our race exhausts are engineered to deliver optimal performance. Clearly marked with type approval markings “Not for Road Use” etched into the side, these exhausts are specifically designed for racing applications. This distinction is in line with DVSA policy, ensuring that our race exhausts are suitable for track use, meeting the highest performance standards without compromising on safety.
