When it comes to upgrading your classic sportbike, few modifications deliver the impact of premium honda performance superbike exhausts, and our system for the Honda CBR600 FH – FL 1987-1990 represents decades of engineering expertise combined with cutting-edge manufacturing techniques. This exhaust system has been specifically designed to enhance the performance, sound, and aesthetics of one of Honda’s most iconic early superbikes, delivering a riding experience that honours the CBR600’s legendary status whilst bringing it firmly into the modern era.

Premium Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts for Classic CBR600 Models

The Honda CBR600 FH, FJ, FK, and FL models manufactured between 1987 and 1990 marked a pivotal moment in motorcycling history, establishing Honda’s dominance in the middleweight sportbike category. Our exhaust system pays homage to this heritage whilst delivering contemporary performance benefits. Each component has been precision-engineered to bolt directly onto your standard OEM downpipes, ensuring a straightforward installation process that doesn’t require expensive modifications or specialist tools.

This complete exhaust package includes everything you need for a professional installation. You’ll receive one CNC mandrel-bent link pipe crafted from premium 304-grade stainless steel, one stainless steel exhaust strap, and one exhaust strap rubber mounting. The mandrel-bent construction is particularly significant, as this manufacturing process maintains consistent pipe diameter throughout all bends, eliminating the restrictions found in crush-bent alternatives and ensuring optimal exhaust gas flow for maximum performance gains.

Why Choose Our Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts for Your CBR600?

The benefits of upgrading to our exhaust system extend far beyond aesthetics, though the visual transformation is undeniable. The 304-grade stainless steel construction offers exceptional corrosion resistance, ensuring your investment maintains its lustrous appearance even when faced with British weather conditions. Unlike mild steel alternatives that rust and deteriorate within seasons, stainless steel delivers longevity that protects your investment for years to come.

Performance enthusiasts will appreciate the noticeable improvements in throttle response and power delivery throughout the rev range. By reducing back pressure and optimising exhaust gas evacuation, our system allows your CBR600’s engine to breathe more efficiently. This translates to crisper acceleration, improved mid-range punch, and a more satisfying riding experience whether you’re carving through country lanes or enjoying spirited track day sessions.

The acoustic transformation is equally impressive. Our exhaust produces a deep, purposeful note that reflects the sporting character of your CBR600 without crossing into antisocial territory. The sound is mechanical, authentic, and thoroughly addictive—exactly what a performance motorcycle should deliver. You can hear the difference in our YouTube demonstration video, which showcases the exhaust note under various throttle conditions.

Installation and Compatibility with Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts

One of the key advantages of our system is its design philosophy centred around compatibility with standard OEM components. The exhaust mates directly to your existing downpipes, eliminating the need for expensive full system replacements. This approach not only reduces costs but also simplifies installation, making it an ideal project for home mechanics with basic tools and mechanical aptitude.

The included mounting hardware—comprising a stainless steel exhaust strap and rubber mounting—ensures secure fitment that withstands the vibrations and thermal cycling inherent to motorcycle exhaust systems. The rubber component provides vibration damping whilst allowing for the thermal expansion that occurs during operation, preventing stress fractures and maintaining alignment over thousands of miles.

For riders exploring other Honda models, we offer similar quality solutions across the range. Our Honda XRV750 Africa Twin 90′ – 03′ exhaust system delivers comparable performance benefits for adventure bike enthusiasts, whilst those with modern machines might consider our Honda NC750 X 2021 exhaust options.

Quality Engineering Behind Our Honda Performance Superbike Exhausts

The mandrel-bending process deserves particular attention, as it represents a significant quality differentiator. Traditional exhaust fabrication often employs crush-bending, which deforms the pipe cross-section at each bend, creating turbulence and restricting flow. Our CNC mandrel-bending technology maintains perfectly circular internal dimensions throughout every curve, ensuring laminar flow characteristics that maximise performance whilst minimising unwanted noise.

The choice of 304-grade stainless steel isn’t arbitrary—this alloy offers an optimal balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal properties. It withstands the extreme temperatures generated by high-performance engines whilst resisting the oxidation and degradation that compromise inferior materials. The welds are executed to professional standards, providing structural integrity that endures the mechanical stresses of spirited riding.
